Lambert upbeat after draw at Everton

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert says the team are heading in the right direction after their 3-3 draw at Everton.

Villa established a 3-1 lead but the Toffees fought back to earn a point.

“They [Everton] are an absolute handful,” said Lambert.

"I couldn’t ask for any more from my team in an attacking sense. If we play this way we’ll win more games than not."

Villa’s supporters applauded their players as they came off the field at the final whistle.

“The fans have been fantastic and if everybody stays together we will go in the right direction.”
