A new-look Queens Park Rangers were unable to find a way past Norwich as the two sides played out a 0-0 draw at Loftus Road as they remain bottom of the Premier League.
Harry Redknapp started with deadline day signings Chris Samba and Andros Townsend against the Canaries and even the introduction of Jermaine Jenas couldn’t give the home side a win.
The tricky feet of Adel Taarabt caused the Canaries’ defence all sorts of problems early on and his tactic of shooting on sight had Mark Bunn scrambling across his line, while Robert Snodgrass went close for the visitors.
A flurry of chances for Norwich just after the break saw Julio Cesar produce a breathtaking save to deny Wes Hoolahan.
Chris Hughton’s men nearly went behind after 56 minutes when Mark Bunn gave away a penalty by tripping Jamie Mackie.
But Bunn redeemed himself by producing a fine stop down to his left to keep out Taarabt’s low penalty.
Grant Holt then saved the Canaries as he cleared a Samba header off the line and at the other end Cesar denied Snodgrass, who was impressive throughout, with another excellent stop.
After the draw QPR continue to prop up the division and sit three points from safety, while Norwich City move above West Ham into thirteenth.
