Exclusive – Chris Perry: Lewis Holtby can unlock defences for Tottenham

Ex-Tottenham star Chris Perry has told talkSPORT that Lewis Holtby can become a key player at White Hart Lane.

Spurs snapped up the German international from Schalke in January as they looked to improve their squad.

And Perry reckons the attacking midfielder’s style of play will help Andre Villas-Boas’ side breakdown even the most stubborn of defences, which they’ve struggled to do at times this season.

He told the Weekend Sports Breakfast: “I’ve seen a few bits on TV from Germany and he looks a tidy player. He should come and fit in right away.

“He did well when he came on at Norwich the other night and he’s a very technical player who can certainly open up defences if you give him the ball.”
