Former Liverpool star Dietmar Hamann has admitted that Jordan Henderson’s excellent recent form shows he has the character to be a good player for the club.
The young midfielder joined the club in £20million deal back in 2011 but had failed to live up to his price tag.
Following two goals in two games and some tireless displays, though, it appears Henderson is finally finding his feet at Anfield.
“He has showed great character,” Hamann told the Weekend Sports Breakfast. “He’s got a great engine. He’s on the move for 90 minutes.
“If you play with three in the middle, with Lucas sitting and Steven Gerrard and Henderson off him then you need to add goals and he’s done that in recent weeks. He’s shown his character there- he battles.
“It’s very hard to turn the fans over and win them back but he’s on the way now and I hope he carries on in that vein of scoring goals. If he does that I think he could be a very good player for Liverpool.”
