Man City keeper Joe Hart said the gap between themselves and title rivals Man United is getting too big as the Citizens dropped points in a 2-2 draw with Liverpool.
City had to come from behind to rescue a point as Sergio Aguero grabbed what could prove to be a vital goal at the Etihad.
Hart said: "Unfortunately it's a big gap and it's getting too big for our liking but we've got to move forward.
"We've put ourselves in a worse position than we would like to be but we know we'll always be there (in the race)."
Controversy surrounded Daniel Sturridge's equaliser in the first-half as the home fans cried out for a foul after Edin Dzeko lay on the ground with a head injury.
However, Hart refused to hide behind the issue and added: "I didn't really know what was going on I was focusing on the ball. In an ideal world we get the free-kick and we score from it but it's not an ideal world."
