Joe Corrigan claims Manchester City can still win the Premier League – despite being nine points behind Manchester United in the title race.
The Blues only managed a 2-2 draw against Liverpool on Sunday and, following the Red Devils 1-0 victory over Fulham, leaves Roberto Mancini’s men well off the pace at the top of the table.
But Corrigan, who played over 450 times for Man City, believes the champions must look to last year for inspiration, where they recovered from an eight point deficit to beat their arch-rivals to the title.
“The title race is not over,” he told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show. “Far from it. There’s still a long way to go.
“When you look back at last season, Man United went eight points clear with six or seven games to go and Man City still won it with the last kick of the season.”
