Gareth Bale dismisses transfer talk after another stunning showing for Spurs

Tottenham star Gareth Bale has scotched rumours that he may leave the club at the end of the season.

The Spurs winger was in scintillating form again for Andre Villas-Boas’ side as they beat Newcastle United thanks to his brace.

But with Barcelona and Real Madrid looking closely at the Welsh star he has claimed he only cares about doing his best for the top four challengers.

Asked if he wanted to be playing in the Champions League in a Spurs shirt, he replied: “Yeah, that’s our target for the season so we’re going to aim for that and see what happens.

“Papers talk. People talk but all I’m concentrating on is putting 100% in on the pitch for me and my team.

“At the end of the season we want to get Champions League football and every player wants to be playing in the Champions League.”
