Chelsea manager Rafa Benitez has slammed claims in the media that he has fallen out with John Terry.
The Blues skipper netted the final goal in their 4-0 win over Brentford in their FA Cup fourth round replay at Stamford Bridge, but it had been reported in the morning’s newspapers that he had clashed with Benitez.
But the Spanish interim manager revealed after the game that such reports were false, and had stunned him.
Benitez said: “We were surprised by some news in the newspapers today because nothing happened. It’s totally rubbish.
“I don’t know how people can create these stories.”
And he added he is delighted that the former England star has returned to fitness, despite it giving him a selection headache.
“I think it was important for us [to have John Terry back],” Benitez said. “We have more bodies and I will have more problems but at the same time more solutions.
“Terry can fight for his position with Ivanovic, Cahill or even David Luiz and that is good for the team.”
