Arsenal have suffered yet another blow after Bacary Sagna was ruled out of the Premier League game against Aston Villa on Saturday with a knee injury.
Sagna played the full 90 minutes against Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday night, but will now face a spell on the sidelines.
The news will come as a disappointment to under-fire manager Arsene Wenger, who is desperate to see his side get back on the winning trail and keep alive their hopes of finishing in the top four.
Wenger said: "Sagna has a problem with his knee. He will be out for Saturday certainly."
Fellow defender Kieran Gibbs will also be missing once again with a thigh injury and Wenger is not sure when he will be ready to make a first-team return.
Wenger added: "He is still out. He will be a few weeks yet."
