Exclusive – Nicky Weaver: Manchester City’s title bid is ‘mission impossible’

    Manchester City players look dejected

Former Manchester City goalkeeper Nicky Weaver has told talkSPORT that the club’s bid to retain the Premier League title is looking like ‘mission impossible’.

Roberto Mancini’s men currently sit 15 points behind leaders and rivals Manchester United as they get ready to face Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium.

And Weaver concedes that they would have to win every league game left this season and witness another dramatic Red Devils collapse to stand a chance of winning the trophy for the second year on the trot.

He told the Weekend Sports Breakfast: “It’s almost mission impossible but, obviously, while it is still mathematically possible there is always a chance.

“First and foremost they’ve got to win against Chelsea and then, pretty much, they’ve got to be looking at winning every single game.

“But Manchester United let a lead slip last year and you just don’t see them letting it happen two years on the trot.”
