Former Manchester City star Peter Reid admits the Premier League title race is over – even after the Blues’ 2-0 victory over Chelsea.
Manchester United are 12 points clear at the top of the table and, with just 11 games left of the league season, the Red Devils look to have sealed their 20th title.
And ex-Main Road favourite Reid claims the pressure of winning the league for a second time has taken its toll on Roberto Mancini’s squad.
“I think the title race is over,” he told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show. “I can’t see Manchester United slipping up. I think all Manchester City can do now is win their games.
“It’s always hard retaining the title but Man City haven’t played well enough [to win the league again]. Man United have just been better, you have to give them credit.
“You have to praise Sir Alex Ferguson for going out and buying Robin van Persie, who ultimately, is the best goalscorer [in the league].”
