Joe Royle believes Everton must prioritise winning the FA Cup over a top four finish.
David Moyes’ side currently sit sixth in the Premier League table, seven points off a Champions League place, but reached the quarter-finals of the cup with a 3-1 fifth round replay victory against Oldham on Tuesday night.
And Royle, who played and managed the Merseyside club, claims the Toffees should focus their efforts on lifting the claret trophy.
“At the moment the top four takes second place,” he told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show. “There’s a great chance of a Wembley visit where they can lift some silverware and David Moyes can get the trophy on his CV he’s craved for years. I’m sure the FA Cup will take priority.”
