Brad Friedel claims the team spirit Andre Villas-Boas has created at Tottenham is the reason behind the club’s recent good form.
Spurs have won their last three Premier League matches, including a 3-2 away win at West Ham, and go into Sunday’s north London derby against Arsenal as favourites with the bookies.
There were reports earlier in the season of unrest at the White Hart Lane but shot-stopper Friedel has rubbished those suggestions, and believes the Portuguese manager’s temperament has been the catalyst behind an unbeaten league run that stretches back to early December.
“There’s a great team spirit here,” he told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show. “People saw the celebrations against West Ham.
"AVB got quite a lot of stick earlier on in the season but there were never any problems within the changing rooms. The spirit is really good.
“He’s got a really good relationship with all of the players. They want to do well for him, for the club and for each other,” he added. “You can see by the amount of late goals we’ve score recently that we’re not going to stop trying for him. It’s a really good place to be right now.”
