Andre Villas-Boas was very happy after his Tottenham team took all three points against Arsenal in the Premier League, with a 2-1 win.
The result of the north London derby leaves Spurs in third and seven points ahead of the Gunners, who now sit in fifth.
Villas-Boas said: “It was very special to beat Arsenal at home and it puts us in a strong position in the league.
“It was a great game, both teams played really well. There was attacking football, and chances for both sides. We suffered at the start of the second half, because we could’ve taken control of the game if we had scored to make it 3-1 which would’ve been game over. Arsenal did well to come back into the game too.”
The Portuguese feels his players have the ability to cope with their Premier League and Europa Cup commitments, with them due to face Inter Milan in the latter.
He added: “We’ve managed the squad with a lot of rest periods to have everyone fresh. We have the ability and we have the strength in depth.
“The players have got equated to having this Europa Cup midweek game to play. The players’ bodies are able to cope with it.
“I think the players will be ready and fresh.”
