Kevin Kilbane believes the uncertainty surrounding David Moyes’ future at Everton is the reason for the club’s recent poor form.
The Toffees have lost three of their last six matches and crashed out of the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon after a 3-0 home defeat to Wigan.
Moyes’ contract expires at the end of the season but has told the Goodison Park board that he will wait until the summer before deciding his future.
And former Everton Kilbane claims the Scotman’s new deal needs to be sorted soon, for the sake of all involved.
“The contract situation is a bit of a cloud over David Moyes and the club at the moment,” he told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast. “That’s what everyone is talking about. The results haven’t gone well since the situation with his contract situation has emerged.
“I don’t think Moyes is under pressure. The result against Wigan just highlights that it’s another season that he hasn’t won a trophy.”
