Colin Hendry believes Steve Kean must get help from the Blackburn owners if he’s to save the club from relegation.
The Venky’s have come under fire from the bulk of Rovers supporters for their lack of investment at Ewood Park and the decision to appoint Kean as manager.
Huge sections of the crowd booed the Scot during Rovers’ 2-1 loss to Bolton before Christmas but former defender Hendry claims Kean needs more support from those above him.
“Steve Kean has handled himself extremely well,” Hendry told Saggers and Quinny. “Some of the criticism is unjust and, when all’s said and done, he’s a human being and he’s got a family.
“If you’re a Blackburn fan you want the people in charge to make decisions to make the football club better.
“I understand the fans' frustrations as they have no chief executive, no chairman and no assistant manager for Kean at this minute in time. He’s walking alone, Kean needs some help.
“Steve has stuck in there and said the correct things. With the results against Liverpool and Man United you wonder whether the club are turning a corner.”
