Hodgson backs Odemwingie to return to form

West Bromwich Albion manager Roy Hodgson has backed striker Peter Odemwingie to return to his best for the club after a dismal campaign so far.

The 30-year-old Nigeria forward stunned the Premier League with his pace and finishing upfront for the Baggies, netting 15 goals in 32 league appearance.

This year, however, he has only scored four in 19 but his boss believes he just needs to get back into the groove and the goals will flow.

"He's got the ability, no-one has ever doubted that," said the Baggies boss.

"But as you say, this year we haven't seen the best of him. Perhaps we've got it still to come, hopefully.

"Maybe he just needs a bit of time to get back into a playing rhythm."
