Exclusive – Dawson: Spurs’ strikers were unplayable against Newcastle

Tottenham defender Michael Dawson has labelled the club’s strike duo of Emmanuel Adebayor and Louis Saha as ‘unplayable’ after watching them take Newcastle apart in a 5-0 win.

Saha, a January signing from Everton, scored twice on his home debut, while Adebayor, on-loan from Manchester City, set up four and scored once to leave Alan Pardew’s side stunned.

And Dawson believes that despite the hype around Magpies’ strike duo Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse pre-match, it was the Spurs strikers which left a lasting impression.

“Newcastle’s front two are a handful but the way we pass the ball we were on top of them and we kept them quiet,” he told talkSPORT.

“It started from the front. Ade and Louis were unplayable today. Louis was fantastic today, and whenever I have played against him you know you have been in a tough game.

“Him and Ade up there were top class.”
