talkSPORT understands Paul Ince is interested in becoming the next Wolves manager.
Ince, 44, has been out of football since leaving Notts County last April and is keen to help his former club in their battle for Premier League survival.
The former Wolves skipper wanted the job back in 2006 when his playing career came to an end but the Molineux board opted for experience in the shape of Mick McCarthy.
However, McCarthy was axed on Monday and Ince is hoping that he will get a crack at managing in the top-flight again after his brief spell in charge at Blackburn back in 2008.
Ince is likely to face stiff competition from Alan Curbishley, who is the early frontrunner to replace McCarthy, with Steve Bruce and Ian Holloway also in the frame.
