Tottenham have no intention of moving into the Olympic Stadium following the London Games in 2012, talkSPORT has been told.

There were reports Spurs had approached the Olympic Park Legacy Company about moving into the ground after designs to redevelop White Hart Lane were beset by planning issues.

But a club spokesman told talkSPORT: "Tottenham Hotspur has not, to date, submitted a bid for the Olympic Stadium and, all things proceeding well with our current plans to build a new stadium within Tottenham, we see no need to."

West Ham are favourites to occupy the Olympic Stadium once the Games are over. However, any Premier League club who moves in will have to accommodate an athletics track within the ground, according to London 2012 chief Lord Coe.

The man who is masterminding the London Games told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on talkSPORT: "We were always going to build a 25,000 seater track and field facility [after the Games], with the potential, if other tenancies were interested, to maybe leave it at 50,000."

He added: "I know the park company is looking at interest from West Ham and from other organisations. I actually think to get a combination of a track and field in there maybe with a football club is a sensible way forward."
