Honours are even at White Hart Lane. Spurs were certainly the better side, but they couldn't find a way past Joe Hart, who was in inspired form. If he carries on like that, Shay GIven will get splinters in his bum... or be on the move
City are playing the ball around at the back. They look happy to settle for a point
There will be four minutes of injury time. Is that long enough for someone to find a winner?
The City keeper has waged an almost lone battle against the Spurs attack
Tottenham go close again. But Bale's header is saved by Hart
There are just a couple of minutes of normal time remaining. It looks as though the Premier League season will begin with a goalless draw
Keane is just inches away from getting his head to a ball driven across the box. if he'd connected, he may well haev scored
Bale plays Pavlyuchnko in but Kompany's excellent sliding tackle snuffs out the danger on the edge of the penalty area
Bale wastes a great chance for Spurs. Dos Sanots cross almost finds Keane but the ball bounces loose to Bale. Sadly it falls to his right foot and he spoons it wide
Tevez gets a great reception from the City fans. Adebayor doesn't from the Spurs contigent!
Adebayor is on for Tevez
He's almost in immediately, but the ball just beats him and Hart is able to gather
Dos Santos was on loan at Ipswich last saeson, but a good World Cup for Mexico seems to have convinced Harry Redknapp to give him another chance. Can he take it?
Giovani Dos Santos comes on for Lennon
Lennon tests Hart again. But it's an easy save for the City keeper
We're entering the final 15 minutes at White Hart Lane. Can either side force a winner?
Spurs are straight down the other end and Pavlyuchnko tests Hart not once, but twice. But the City keeper is up to both challenges
City go close with a deflected shot from Tevez that flies narrowly wide
Keane and Pavlyuchenko are on for Defoe and Crouch
Adam Johnson comes on for Wright-Phillips
Everyone expected James Milner to be a City player by now, but the news coming out of Villa Park is that he will start for Villa against West Ham this afternoon
Yaye Toure plays in Richards, but the full-back's header is weak and straight at keeper Gomes. Think that's the Brazilian's first save of the game
Sub Zabaleta is the second City name to go in the ref's book for hauling down Lennon. Obviously didn't fancy chasing the little flyer half the length of the pitch!
Ex-Gunner Emmanuel Adebayor is warming up for City. His introduction should liven up the home fans a bit...
The opening 10 minites of the secodn half have much more even that the first. But there's not as much goalmouth action
City must have got an Italian earful at the break. They've started much better this half
Crouch tries one of his overhead specials. But the big man misses the ball completely and succeeds only in nearly taking Wright-Phillips' head off!
City have a great chance in the opening minute of the second period. Wright-Phillips gets in behind Spurs' back four from Yaya Toure's pass but takes too long as Assou-Ekotto slides in to make the tackle
City get the second half underway
Change at the break with Zabaleta coming on for Kolarov, who looked to be limping as the team left the pitch at half-time
City have been under the cosh for theentire first 45 minutes. Joe Hart has been the difference between the two teams with a string of fine saves. I'm off to put the kettle on. We'll be back for the second half...
City manage their second shot of the ga.e But Kolarov's effort is about as good as Yaya Toure's was. And that was not good at all
Bale's away down the left again. He's having a great game, but his cross is blocked
Mix up at the back between Kolo Toure and Hart results in a Spurs corner. It's taken short and Bale flashes in a great ball but none of his team-mates can get on the end of it
Defoe goes close again. But somehow City scramble the ball away just when it looked as though the Spurs striker was going to give his side the lead
City finally manage a shot in anger but Yaya Toure's drives flashes miles wide
Spurs are battering City. This game should be almost over
Sours continue to knock on the door. Bale finally beats Hart but the ball crashes back off the post. Lennon tries to force home the rebound his effort is blocked
The White Hart Lane crowd are screaming for a penalty as Bale goes down in the box. Ref Andre Mariner is having none of it though
Great cross in from Bale towards Defoe. The little striker makes half a connection but his effort si blocked by Hart
Tevez is in with a chance to shoot. But he tries to cut across a defender and loses the ball. Needed to hit that first time
First booking of the season and it goes to City. Kompany gets a yellow for a foul
First little flash from David Silva there. Jinking run cutting in from the right on to his left foot, but his shot is easily blocked
Fabio Capello is in the crowd at White Hart Lane. He'll have been impressed with Hart so far.
England's new No.1 is the only thing between Spurs and the opening goal here. If it wasn't for him, City could be 3-0 down already
It's another stunning stop by Hart. Essou-Ekott's left foot shot is deflected towards the top corner but Hart flicks it over the bar
Hart is keeping City in the game at the moment. Expect the TV cameras to pan shortly to a grumpy looking Irishman on the City bench!
Huddlestone goes close twice in quick succession. First shot is blocked by Kompany. The second - a stunning volley - is superbly saved by Hart
Great save by Hart! Lennon with the cross, Crouch nods down to Defoe, who swivels and volleys towards goal. But Hart makes a brillaint one-handed block
Not the first time Crouch has been punished this week, of course...!
First effort on goal. Bale's free-kick headed goalwards at the far post by Crouch. Hart saves, but the ref gives a free-kick against the big Spurs striker
City new boy David Silva dallies on the ball and is robbed off possession. Get a shift on son - you're not in Spain now!
First involvement for Joe Hart and he deals comfortably with a ball into the box
Ex-Arsenal star Kolo Toure is - unsurprisingly - getting a warm reception from the White Hart Lane faithful!
It's a bright start by Spurs
And we're off. The 2010-11 Premier League season is underway!
