West Ham midfielder Jonathan Spector has ruled out making a move to Cologne in January and hopes the club will offer him a new contract at the end of the season.
Spector has only one year left on his current deal and can leave the club as a free agent.
The American international has failed to establish a first-team place under Avram Grant, but stole all the headlines when he netted two goals against his former club Manchester United to help West Ham reach the Carling Cup semi-final.
Spector has been strongly linked with a move to German club Cologne, but he intends to stay at West Ham until the end of the season and hopes to finalise his long-term future.
Spector said: "At the moment I'm a West Ham player. I have this season left on my contract and I intend to see it out and who knows what will happen from there?
"If the club want me to stay on then obviously I would be delighted. Right now, I'm focused on keeping the club in the Premier League.
"There's no reason why we can't get out of this as we're only halfway through the season now."
