Fulham boss Mark Hughes insists signing Eidur Gudjohnsen was not a risk and has promised the Icelander he will have an opportunity to prove himself in the first-team.
The former Chelsea star joined Fulham on loan from Stoke on transfer deadline day and has since made two substitute appearances for his new side.
But despite signing a player who was not considered good enough to play for Stoke, Hughes says he is more than happy with the Icelandic international and has hinted he could offer Gudjohnsen a permanent deal if he impresses.
"We have him until the end of the season. I knew he was good, it was never a risk," said Hughes.
"I am delighted he is here, we will wait and see, he has only had a couple of sub appearances.
"He needs games, there will be opportunities between now and the end of the season."
