Man United set to escape FIFA rap over Dutch starlet
Manchester United are set to escape a FIFA rap for their pursuit of Ajax starlet Gyliano van Velzen - with the Dutch club not keen on dragging the matter through the courts.
Ajax were said to be 'surprised and disappointed' that the 16-year-old midfielder had decided to move to Manchester following months of talks.
Van Velzen originally snubbed United in March but changed his mind earlier this month and is now ready to train with the club's academy.
United believe they have done nothing wrong as van Velzen was available on the open market having not signed a professional contract at Ajax.
The Dutch club were considering reporting United but insiders at the Amsterdam Arena have told talkSPORT they'd prefer to settle the matter out of court, with Ajax seeking hefty compensation for seeing their talented teen leave.
