Freiburg have placed a £13m price-tag on wantaway striker Papiss Demba Cisse.
He said last week: "I want to leave. I hope that this happens before August 31, I want to try to play at a different level."
Freiburg are now resigned to losing Cisse, who scored 22 goals in the Bundesliga last season, behind the league’s top scorer Mario Gomes.
His haul was the most scored in a season by a Freiburg player, as well as a record for the most goals scored by an African in a single Bundesliga season.
And his performances last season have alerted a string of clubs, including Fulham and Newcastle.
But Freiburg are using the interest from the Premier League and elsewhere to spark an auction for the 26-year-old, with a fee of around £13m expected to be enough to land him.
