Anzhi Makhachkala are ready to turn their attention to Real Madrid superstar, and one-time Arsenal target, Kaka.
It was reported that Arsene Wenger approached Real about a possible loan deal for Kaka to help plug the midfield gap left by departing duo Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri during the summer.
But Madrid were not prepared to let the 29-year-old leave the club on loan, telling the Gunners only a big cash bid would tempt them to sell.
And now Russian big-spenders Anzhi are understood to be preparing a New Year offer for the talented midfielder.
According to reports in Russia, manager Roberto Carlos wants to follow up the summer capture of Samuel Eto'o by signing a number of world stars, of which his former Brazil team-mate Kaka is one.
Carlos has made no secret of his desire to take Premier League pair Nicolas Anelka and Robin Van Persie to the club in the future but it is understood that he will make his move for Kaka in January.
