Zenit St Petersburg have joined Manchester City in the race to sign Napoli hotshot Ezequiel Lavezzi.
City have been strongly linked with a move for the Argentine forward who has been outstanding for the Serie A club.
With Carlos Tevez expected to leave Manchester City in January, Roberto Mancini is keen to bring in another big-name forward.
But he will have to act fast if he wants to sign Lavezzi as reports in Russia suggest that Zenit St Petersburg are also battling to clinch his signature and are keen to open negotiations with the prolific forward.
Lavezzi, 26, is reported to have a £30m release clause in his contract and Napoli are bracing themselves for a bidding war when the transfer window reopens in January.
