Joe Cole says he wants to stay at Lille for next season - and insists money is not his motivation.
Cole, who endured a poor end to his career at Chelsea, moved to Anfield in 2010 on a free transfer and signed a lucrative contract in the process.
The one-time England mainstay earns around £110,000-a-week at Liverpool and Lille have contributed to his wages for this season.
And it has been an impressive one for Cole. He has scored four goals in Ligue 1 for the club and has caught the eye with a string of encouraging performances.
He has even been linked with an England return following his strong season in France, while Liverpool are also monitoring him closely with a view to potentially taking him back.
But Cole says he would be open to staying at Lille, although the club would have to sort out his pay, with the 30-year-old said to be the club's highest earner.
"I wouldn't say no to another season on loan at Lille," said Cole to L'Equipe. "I would like to stay and I have to clarify that money is not the first priority for me."
