Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani could still have a future at Anfield, according to reports in Italy.
Aquilani, who joined AC Milan on a season-long loan last summer, had been expected to join the Serie A side on a permanent basis, with the Italian side obliged to sign the 27-year-old if he racked up 25 league appearances.
However, Aquilani has made just 21 league outings this season, and Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport believes that Milan are hesitant about fielding the midfielder during their five remaining league fixtures.
Should Aquilani fail to feature in four further league games he will return to Merseyside, leaving Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish with the decision of whether to hand the midfielder another chance to make the grade at Anfield.
