Liverpool face fight with Galatasaray for Real Madrid star

Liverpool will have to act fast in a battle with Galatasaray if they want to resurrect their interest in Hamit Altintop.

The Real Madrid midfielder is set to leave the Bernabeu where he has grown frustrated at his lack of first team action.

According to Spanish paper AS, which has strong ties with Jose Mourinho’s club, the player’s agent Reza Fazeli has been to Istanbul to meet with the Turkish side.

The player’s representative recently told the Dogan News Agency: "Negotiations are ongoing. I can say it's going well."

Liverpool were linked with the versatile midfielder in May when he was pencilled in as a possible replacement for Dirk Kuyt but since Kenny Dalglish’s sacking the move has gone cold and the Anfield risk losing their chance to sign the German-born Turk.
