AC Milan want Man City striker to replace Ibrahimovic

AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri will push ahead with a move for Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko as enigmatic Sweden international Zlatan Ibrahimovic edges ever closer to the San Siro exit.

Ibrahimovic is poised to complete his transfer to free-spending French side PSG in the next few days, forcing Allegri to sign a new forward before the start of next season.

And according to Italian TV station Mediaset, the Milan boss will pursue Dzeko, who has failed to establish himself as Roberto Mancini's first-choice forward since arriving from Wolfsburg in 2011.

Mancini is thought to be keen to keep hold of the Bosnian, who bagged 14 league goals last season, but could he be forced to sell as City look to comply with UEFA's financial fairplay regulations.

And Milan are confident that a bid of £24m will be enough to prise Dzeko away from the Etihad Stadium.
