Fulham deny Dempsey is set to join Liverpol

Fulham have denied that Clint Dempsey is closing to moving to Liverpool.

Reports coming out of the USA on Wednesday morning claimed the Reds had completed a deal to sign the American international striker.

But a Fulham spokesperson has told talkSPORT there has been no bid for Dempsey and stressed that the west London club is discouraging any interested clubs from pursuing the player.

Dempsey, who scored 23 goals last season, has one year left on his current Craven Cottage deal.
