Arsenal midfielder Alex Song has reached an agreement with Spanish side Barcelona, according to Catalan newspaper Sport.
Talk of Barcelona’s interest in Song emerged towards the end of last month as the Catalan giants began to grow frustrated in their pursuit of Athletic Bilbao’s Javi Martinez.
Barca boss Tito Vilanova is thought to have turned his attentions to Song as he seeks a replacement for Seydou Keita, who left the club earlier this summer.
Nou Camp officials are also impressed with Song’s ability to operate in defence and midfield.
Sport reports that Barcelona have already agreed personal terms with the Cameroon international, but they have yet to submit a formal offer to Arsenal.
And Song, who emerged as a key player for the Gunners last term after racking up 11 Premier League assists, is reported to have informed manager Arsene Wenger of his desire to ditch north London for Catalonia.
