Arsenal are on the verge of completing the loan signing of Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin.
With Alex Song in Spain to finalise his move to Barcelona, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has already sounded out Sahin as a replacement, and will beat Liverpool to the temporary signature of the Turkey international.
Sahin’s agent has travelled to Madrid to finalise negotiations with Bernabeu officials over his client’s departure, paving the way for the 23-year-old to move to the Emirates Stadium.
Sahin, who struggled to establish himself in the Spanish capital last term, is likely to be pushed even further down the Real midfield pecking order as manager Jose Mourinho edges closer to the signing of Tottenham playmaker Luka Modric.
And the Gunners are confident they can close out a deal for Sahin in the next few days.
