Espanyol have ruled out a mooted move for free agent Emile Heskey - or anyone else.
The Spanish club were surprisingly included in the list of clubs currently said to be considering a move for the former Aston Villa striker, who is available on a free after his contract at the Villans expired.
But a move to the Barcelona-based club will not be happening, according to their sporting director.
When asked whether 34-year-old Heskey might join them, Ramon Planes told Spanish newspaper SPORT: "I know about the rumours in the papers but we are not interested in Heskey or any one else.
"The squad is closed and the coach has not demanded any more players.
"We have created a squad with an interesting mix between youth and experience within our budget."
