Manchester United target Kevin Strootman could leave PSV Eindhoven in January, according to his agent.
United have been tracking the midfielder, 22, for a year now and are understood to be considering a move.
But AC Milan and Zenit St Petersburg are also in the race to sign him, which could come to a head when the transfer window opens in the New Year.
Speaking to Russian newspaper Izvestia, his agent Chiel Dekker revealed: "Strootman has had a good time in Eindhoven, but we decided that he wants to prove himself in a better league.
"If an agreement is able to be reached with a potentially interested club, PSV will allow Kevin to leave in January."
