Man United keen to land Juventus midfielder

    Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal

Manchester United have sounded out Juventus over a possible move for midfielder Arturo Vidal, according to sources in Germany.

Vidal, 25, burst onto the European scene during a four-year stint at German club Bayer Leverkusen.

And after helping Leverkusen to a second-place Bundesliga finish in 2011, the Chilean earned a move to Juventus, where he played a big part as the Old Lady stormed to the Serie A title last term.

The energetic Chile international impressed during Juventus' recent 2-2 Champions League draw at Chelsea, where he scored his side's first goal.

Vidal's performances have not gone unnoticed at Old Trafford, and United, who are widely believed to have lacked a dynamic central midfielder since Roy Keane, are thought to have contacted Juventus about the 25-year-old's availability.

However, United would have to dig deep to land Vidal - the midfielder is under contract until 2016 and valued at £40m.
