Carlo Ancelotti has dropped the strongest hint yet that he’d like to sign Ashley Cole by describing the Chelsea star as “the best left-back in the world.”
Renewed speculation is linking the England full-back with a move to Paris St Germain, and it’s clear the former Stamford Bridge boss would welcome him with open arms.
Cole, 31, is in the final year of his contract at Chelsea, and owner Roman Abramovich has made it clear he will only sanction one year deals for players over the age of 30.
There would be no shortage of interested parties in the former Arsenal star, and it appears PSG will be right at the head of the queue.
Asked about reports of a move for Cole, Ancelotti told ESPN STAR Sports: "This is normal because a lot of players are linked with Paris St Germain. The newspapers said that 100 players could come here
“Ashley Cole is the best left-back in the world at the moment. For this season, we have a very good squad but next year, I don't know what is going on."
