Manchester City are ready to rival neighbours Manchester United for Juventus ace Arturo Vidal.
talkSPORT revealed last week that United had informally enquired about the Chilean, with Sir Alex Ferguson reportedly keen to add some steel to the heart of his midfield.
Despite the acquisition of midfielders Jack Rodwell and Javi Garcia during the recent summer transfer window, City manager Roberto Mancini is still on the lookout for a high-profile midfielder, and Vidal is thought to fit the bill.
However, both United and City face several hurdles in their pursuit of the 25-year-old.
Spanish champions Real Madrid are also thought to be tracking the Chilean, while Juventus are reluctant to part with the £25m-rated midfielder, who has four years left on his current contract.
