Injuries to Wojciech Szczesny and Lukasz Fabianski have afforded Mannone first-team football this term and he has impressed in their absence, having kept two clean sheets in five Premier League outings.
The Italian believes he is now ready to challenge Szczesny for the number one jersey, before revealing that he would love to switch to the San Siro at some stage in his career.
Speaking to Corriere della Sera, the 24-year-old said: "It's good at Arsenal, I want to be number one here.
"Then [I want to] return to Italy and play in Serie A, perhaps with AC Milan, my favorite team.
"And finally, with the national team - I am already proven at youth level but with the seniors is another thing."
