Manchester United target Raphael Varane insists he has no intention of leaving Real Madrid in January.
The teenage centre-back has been linked with a move to Old Trafford, with Sir Alex Ferguson once again struggling with a defensive injury crisis.
And, at 19, Varane fits the bill with United's new policy of recruiting the continent's brightest young talents.
The talented Frenchman joined Madrid in the summer of 2011 after an exceptional debut season for Ligue 1 side Lens but has found his opportunities at the Bernabeu limited, and has started only eight La Liga games for them since his switch.
That has led to speculation about his future, although he insists he's ready to fight for his place in Jose Mourinho's team.
"You could have the impression that I have not made much progress," he told reporters while away on international duty.
"But it is false. Clearly we all have to evolve quickly, perhaps more quickly, than we might have done before.
"This has created some impatience, both for you (reporters) and me.
"But for the moment I do not have reason to think about a transfer."
