Juninho Pernambucano has told Florent Malouda to ignore overtures from Santos to play for Vasco da Gama.
The Frenchman's time at Chelsea is over and he will be moved on this season, with Santos the first club to register an interest in the player.
Malouda, 32, is eager to get his career back on track and former Lyon attacker Juninho, now at Vasco, wants his club to enter the bidding.
"I called him to say I want him to play with me. The club is keen but so far it is not possible for economic reasons," Juninho told RMC.
"I think with his quality he could bring a lot to Brazilian football. I still hope he can come here."
