De Boer admits Ajax will sell Eriksen for 'big' money

Christian Eriksen in action for Ajax

Ajax have raised the stakes in the fight for Christian Eriksen by claiming they will sell the Liverpool and Manchester City target for 'a big bag of money'.

The Danish international, 20, recently starred in Ajax's impressive Champions League matches against City.

Numerous Premier League clubs want Eriksen and could make a move but Ajax coach Ronald de Boer - who claims the player would fit in at Real Madrid or Barcelona - will try and keep him.

De Boer, who is assistant manager to his brother Frank at the Amsterdam club, said: "Eriksen is only 20, but already seems older than he is. He has so much talent and of course it is difficult to keep him.

"I think he is a player for Madrid or Barcelona but I think one more year at Ajax wouldn't hurt him. Although that's difficult - I can't predict next year he will be at us."

talkSPORT recently revealed how Eriksen is stalling on a new contract and is open to leaving - and De Boer admits he will go if clubs cough up.

"It would be great to have him in the team but if a team comes along and puts a big bag of money it would be impossible for Ajax to keep him," he said.
