Manchester City could be encouraged to make a summer move for Stevan Jovetic after Fiorentina revealed their intention to "evaluate" his situation at the end of the season.
The Premier League champions were heavily linked with Jovetic throughout the summer but failed to bring him to the Etihad Stadium.
The 23-year-old has also attracted strong interest from Fiorentina's domestic rivals Juventus.
The Montenegrin forward has already found the back of the net six times in Serie A this term and Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade admits his side may cash in - although he ruled out a January sale.
"He's our top player," Prade told Mediaset Premium. "With him on the pitch we've scored 11 goals, without him seven.
"He will remain [here] until June, then in the summer we will evaluate. We have ruled out any transfer in January."
