Santos midfielder Felipe Anderson has handed Spurs a transfer blow by signalling his desire to stay in Brazil.

Anderson has emerged as one of the brightest young players in Brazil over the last 18 months and has drawn comparisons with Samba star Ganso.

Serie A side AC Milan, like Spurs, are interested in the playmaker, but he insists he is focused on securing his first-team berth at Santos.

"For me it's a surprise to hear of interest from Milan because I have not proven anything," he is quoted as saying on TuttoMercatoWeb.com. "I'm working to earn my place at Santos - this is why I'm not thinking of a possible transfer."

Despite this, he admits he is tempted by the prospect of moving to Europe one day.

He added: "To go and play in Europe has been a dream since I was a child, but I also want to became an idol for the Santos fans. When the time is right I'll be ready [to move]."
