Chelsea's hopes of signing Radamel Falcao this January have received a further setback.
The Stamford Bridge side had reportedly negotiated a £35million deal with Atletico Madrid for the outstanding Colombian striker.
But Falcao, who can also count Manchester City among his many admirers, distanced himself from a winter move last week and now his agent appears to have ruled out an imminent switch to the Premier League.
Atletico legend Paulo Futre, according to reports in Marca, has been told by agent Jorge Mendes: "It is impossible that Falcao will leave in the January market."
The report claims that Futre and Mendes dicussed Falcao's future at the weekend after reports the star striker could be leaving.
