Inter Milan are poised to beat Spurs and Manchester United to the signature of Udinese defender Mehdi Benatia.
talkSPORT told you earlier this month that the two Premier League teams have been monitoring the Moroccan centre-back for the last year.
Benatia, 25, even admitted he was flattered to hear speculation linking him to the Old Trafford club.
But Inter Milan, who are currently in the process of revamping an ageing squad, have identified Benatia as their first-choice target to replace the long-serving Walter Samuel.
The San Siro side will step up their efforts to land the 25-year-old, but could face competition from rivals Napoli, who are also tracking him.
