Barcelona join Tottenham in chase for Roma star

Tottenham will face a fight to sign Miralem Pjanic amid reports that Barcelona and Newcastle are also tracking the Roma midfielder.

Pjanic's future in the Eternal City has come under much speculation this season following suggestions he has fallen out with new manager Zdenek Zeman.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international was linked with Spurs in the summer, while the north London club's hopes of signing him in January were dashed when he revealed he would not leave Serie A until the summer.

And according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, his relationship with Zeman has deteriorated to the extent he will be sold at the end of the season.

But news of his availability has also alerted Barcelona, who are fans of the playmaker, while Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is also planning an ambitious move for the 22-year-old.
