Fiorentina have stolen a march on Tottenham and Aston Villa in the race to land Nancy defender Massadio Haidara.
Villa came close to signing him in the summer but the move fell through after Paul Lambert replaced Alex McLeish.
Reports in recent weeks have suggested Spurs boss Andre Villas-boas is also monitoring the 19-year-old France Under-21 international.
But Fiorentina appeared to have stepped up their interest, with sources in Italy claiming the left-back's representative was in Florence earlier this week.
