Man United agree £12m deal for Dortmund striker - reports

Robert Lewandowski in action for Borussia Dortmund

Manchester United are set to land Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski, according to Sky Deutschland.

Lewandowski, the Poland international, played a key role in Dortmund's back-to-back title wins of 2011 and 2012.

He has found the back of the net 52 times since the start of the 2010/11 season and his goalscoring exploits have caught the eye of Sir Alex Ferguson, who has no shortage of attacking options at Old Trafford.

But that hasn't stopped him from pursuing the 24-year-old and sources in Germany claim United have reached an agreement with the Bundesliga side to sign the forward for £12m.

Should the move go ahead, it will provide Ferguson with the chance to reunite Lewandowski with Shinji Kagawa, who joined United from the German club during the summer.
